With this crochet pattern, you can make yourself a collection of snowy top Christmas ornaments. In the pattern, you will find instructions for 4 different ornaments, two sizes of Christmas baubles, an icicle and onion ornament.
Christmas tree decorations & gift toppers
These crocheted ornaments are obviously fantastic for decorating a Christmas tree and especially practical if you have pets or kids that are not safe with glass balls or the other way around 😊 My goldfish, although feisty, are not exactly a threat to my glass ornaments, but I still like to hang crocheted ornaments in my tree and mix them with glass ornaments. It gives a soft and cozy vibe to the tree. These snowy ornaments also look amazing as gift toppers for Christmas presents.
Sizes
If you make the ornaments according to this pattern, the approximate measurements will be: small bauble (Ø 4 cm / 1 ⅝ inch), large bauble (Ø 6 cm / 2 ⅜ inch), onion ornament (8.5 cm / 3 ⅜ inch long) and icicle ornament (14 cm / inch 5 ½ long).
Skill level
Intermediate: only basic knowledge of crochet stitches is required. The difficulty is in keeping an eye on the pattern, which is not that hard, but perhaps not that easy either.
Yarn
I used leftover fine yarn for these ornaments. I like to use cotton yarns by Schachenmayr Catania or Scheepjes Catona, but you can use any fine yarn.
Free Gift Labels
If you are planning on making them as gifts, Home of Yarns also has a gift for you! You get free printable gift labels and wraps to make your gift look even more awesome.
Languages
This pattern is available in 4 languages: UK English, USA English, German (Deutsch) and Dutch (Nederlands)!
Color blind friendly
I made an effort to make all of the Home of Yarns patterns color blind friendly, with dark text on a white background and if a chart is included, it is always in addition to written out instructions. For the charts, I use symbols in either black and white or other highly contrasting color combinations. I am quite positive that I did a good job, but I am no expert on color blindness. If you need any assistance reading the pattern, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me and I will be happy to help you out.
